AH, THE 'APPROVED' DOWNTOWN LAS CRUCES CHRISTIAN PLAZA

“The revised plan was developed from input by [Christian] residents and councillors.”
(After the secretive The Forum blessed it.)

This location is very near the now-sacred spot under a bank where the old St. Genevieve's Church was located, before Bishop Metzgar had it torn down, sold the property to the same bank, and soon after retired to El Paso, Texas.  A new church was built at another location and a few years passed.   Families increasingly bemoaned their loss. Meanwhile, others have built fortunes on the millions of public money spent on this new project after years of ignoring the dead Downtown and its failed 1970's Urban Renewal. Since then, the resuscitation has taken on a Christian evangelical determination to make the area a bigoted, holy wonderment fed by the ancestral lies of the promoted local Christian history and the illegal misdirection of public funds.

The city council and project supporters ignored the purchase of the available 110-acre golf course property that would have benefited the whole of the community for generations.  The zeal of the Downtown Gang to turn the area, Lazarus-like into their holy spot after years-long 'spending' of millions of dollars, has not gone unnoticed by the community.  Any legal action, which would be required due to the unabashed bigotry of some in the community, to give the plaza a welcoming and inclusive spirit has been cursed by the lies of a previous sectarian court decision.

From the north-end anchor, next to the City's only public library holding books of enlightenment while branded with the local sign of bigotry, stands the newer "City of Las Cruces City Hall" (carved to represent 'cuidad de las cruces - City of Christian Crosses') flying its proud Christian proselytizing flags, to a Federal courtroom on the east-side where a bible supplants the U. S. Constitution, to the west-side along Water Street, mostly ignored, it being lined with small offices, to the south-end's future anointment, waiting to be a surprise to all since the previous large old Latin trinity crosses planters have been removed, is the Downtown holy site of Las Cruces.

“The roof of the performing stage can be seen [dark area at bottom representing the rocks at Calvary] with the water splash pad [representing the divine headrest with rays of light] and lawned [sic] areas [pillow-soft grass at the head of the cross] drawing people [faithful Christian pilgrims] to the plaza.  In the drawing…. the elliptical sundial at the center of the plaza [represents the slanted footrest of the cross of Jesus] with stained cement paving demarking sections.  Originally a round sundial was envisioned, an elliptical sundial is better, because the markings can be adjusted [adjusting "cement paving....sections?"] to tell correct time.”

The "water splash pad" is reminiscent of Mayor Miyagishima's bigoted religious plaque of divine light, rays, and crosses he awards to citizens he blesses.  Those crosses would be obvious, so they make the whole plaza a cross!  (Note:  The plaque can be seen on a previous post.)

Note:  The slanted footrest is depicted in paintings so the raised end on Jesus' right points to the good thief, Dismas, while the lower end points to the bad thief, Gestas.

NEW MEXICO PUBLIC SCHOOLS INSURANCE AUTHORITY (NMPSIA)

Why does the NMPSIA which controls millions of dollars for health care and the disbursement of those millions use a totally Catholic version of the State of New Mexico appropriated sacred Zia Pueblo symbol?  Does this bigoted symbol convey a belief that all is well with the deposits?  (See symbol below used as the logo of the NMPSIA.)
Their website reports "over 30,000 educational employees and their families," but does not openly reference the many other thousands of educational retirees paying into the fund.
A search of their website does not reveal where the millions of dollars are located awaiting disbursement for healthcare bills.
Who are the board members? What are their qualifications and whom are they employed by, or self-employed? One vague figure on website showed no funding for these Board members.
A further search revealed the following appointments:
- Two teachers belonging to NEA.
- One teacher belonging to AFT/NM.
- Three by governor's appointment.
- One from Superintendent's Association
- One School Business official. (? What?)
- One from Education entities at large.  (? What?)
- One from School Boards Association.
- One from Public Education Commission.

To alleviate any confusion about this design used by the NMPSIA, previous posts on this blog explain and show the difference.  Hint: note the larger gap between the bars providing three spaces referencing the Catholic "Holy Trinity."

THIS NEXT IS ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF THE BIGOTED CATHOLIC SYMBOL USED IN THE NMPSIA WEBSITE.

BIGOTRY AT ITS BEST, A FAILED LEGACY

When the current culturally deficient mayor of Las Cruces, insurance agent Mr. Miyagishima, replaced the jocular travel agent bigot (see previous story of Holocaust ceremony), he immediately began his promotion of Christianity from his public mayoral office.
There had been some hope of respite among The Other religious and non-believer minorities from the decades of unashamed religious bigotry of the city of Las Cruces.   That hope faded when Miyagishima introduced his decidedly Catholic mayoral plaque.  Ancestral experiences of racial and religious bigotry are sometimes lost on descendants, but their own, proudly carried on.
The divinely representative center cross with the rays of white light is the same cross that the sitting judge, federal magistrate Lourdes Martinez said she couldn't see.

The other laughable followup project passed by the City Council, and approved by the state Legislature, is the vehicular license plate promoting the city-wide Christian bigotry.   The additional profits from the special sales of the plate was scheduled to provide monies for proselytizing the city's youth at the Meerscheidt Recreational Center. A daily, on going, enterprise.
The interest in joining the city's promotion of religious bigotry was misjudged.  After several years of sales the total is less than a thousand.  The license plates are nice in that they help identify the proud bigots of their exclusive "City of the Crosses."

The other laughable promotion is the engraved evangelical nickname for the city, "City of Las Cruces," on the front of the new city hall building.  "Las Cruces" is just not enough, when the purpose is to relate the name to the Spanish for 'the crosses.'  (see previous posts about the Las Cruces name from fakelore of Latin crosses over fictitious massacre graves.)

Now we have:
Las Cruces Sun-News. Las Cruces courtesy photo.

Any passerby will know what this sign means.  The message is loud and clear:  'Christians are welcome.  This is a Christian city.  Non-believers don't tarry.'

The failure of the local government's in-your-face plethora of Christian symbols, caused by the meaningless monotony of the City's gothic, pagan influenced symbol of the sun, and the trinitarian crosses that evolved from the fictitious graves' crosses, has generated a new direction to make proud the evangelical purpose of the City government to promote Christianity.
Announced 09-15-2014 in the local Las Cruces Sun-News, the City Council is considering the placement of large, 20' X 40', in-your-face billboards on I-10 (East and West), I-25 (North and South), and U. S. Highway 70 (from and to Alamogordo, NM), not only to proselytize the passing travelers, the other 150,000 Mesilla Valley residents, and residents of New Mexico, but to justify the promotion of Christianity .  The article revealed the head cheerleaders as Miyagishima, of course, and Mr. Udell Vigil, of the Public Information Office, the base for promoting government fundamentalism.

"It's a branding effort," said Udell Vigil.  ".....city officials want to let visitors and motorists passing through know they are welcome."  Right!  If you are not here to be sanctified, you are welcomed to stay long enough to spend some money and kiss the Roadrunner's arse on the way out of the city.

OLD GLORY NEVER RAISED HER HEAD

During the evening of 29 August 2014, there was excitement in the local public school district's football stadium nicknamed the "Field of Dreams."  Now a permanent designation, even lettered on the new Million Dollar Artificial Turf.  The turf was paid for in part, perhaps in toto, by stripping funds from the various schools' arts and music programs.

From its provincial beginning, the field was curiously nicknamed after the baseball movie of that same name.  Though illegal in most venues, the school district allows the belligerent display of large, permanent Christian crosses of the Trinity on the street sidewall. Supposedly, in deference to the city's name source of crosses over fictitious graves from fictitious Apache massacres.

The across-town rivalry joined two public high schools. One school dubiously named "Onate High School" by the Church for the blessed Mexico-born conquistador who only passed through the area.  Fans and students of the newer other, Centennial High School, were wearing shirts and other equipment with the intentionally modified Trinitarian Zia symbol part of the school logo.

Adding to the religiously charged event was the fluttering extra-large, evangelical-modified, Christianized state flag hanging under what appeared to be a smaller Old Glory. (See modified flag at 10/10/13 post.)

Throughout the event, played out in the warm desert breeze, the fluttering modified state flag displayed its true face, while that symbol that represents us all, Old Glory, perhaps in shame, never raised her head.  But, the Valley's 'golden calf' flag of religious bigotry pole-danced the night away.

A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR TOURISTS

Near the terminus of Interstate 10 at the southwest border with Arizona is a city, Lordsburg, that Robert Julyan in his The Place Names of New Mexico discarded the other suppositions to the name and decided "most likely" it was named after the railroad engineer, Delbert Lord, who was the chief engineer during construction.  Julyan makes no religious reference to the adopted name or to those possibilities of the name. Those other name references listed people.  Not deities.

It now appears that the name has been taken to heart by some government officials and allowed the Christian defied-modification of the State's Zia symbol to illegally and insultingly adorn the north and south entrance doors of the only state/federal government-owned New Mexico Tourist Center/Rest Stop in Lordsburg.

These doors are a prime example of how Christians' hegemony ("Our crosses are more important to us than your feelings.') combines with public property to promote their Christian beliefs of superiority.  Like the reds of the rubies and garnets worn on the brocades of the Church, these blood-colored Christian crosses represent the blood of Jesus and shockingly proselytize the unsuspecting travelers going east and west.

CHRISTIAN DOMINIONISTS' FLAG -WAVING BIGOTRY IN NEW MEXICO

Standard New Mexico state flag.  Approved by state legislature in 1925.  The center space of each branch was elongated to better emphasize the use of the three spaces to represent the trinity of Christianity.  Although this is a Christian modification of the stolen Zia Pueblo sacred religious symbol, it is unknowingly accepted by most as representing the state of New Mexico.  In fact it represents the domination of the Church over the First People and the state of New Mexico.

This is the bigoted Christian Dominionists’ newer modification of the New Mexico state flag to proselytize and claim the entire state and government as their own. The State has its flag, and now these bigoted Christian Dominionists have their flag. (Color changed by printer.)

REPLACEMENT OF GOOD HOUSEKEEPING SEAL

Replacement of the Good Housekeeping Seal

The first edition of the Good Housekeeping magazine was published in 1885.  The owner, Clark W. Bryan, said the purpose of his magazine was “a family journal conducted in the higher life of the household.”  He further stated that the magazine had a “mission to fulfill compounded of about equal portions of public duty and private enterprise.”  This was the honor code of Mr. Bryan and his magazine.
The year my father was born, 1909, a new idea in the honor code of merchandising was born by Good Housekeeping.  The national magazine stated that they would guarantee every product advertised in their magazine for two years – refund or replacement.  This was the new honor code of this privately owned magazine:  “An Inflexible Contract Between the Publisher and Each Subscriber.”  A totally non-biased approach of equality when dealing with the people.
Good Housekeeping has kept their promise for over a hundred years, even to today.  What a wonderful concept for our various governments in all the states to operate under, including the federal government:  The Quality of the ‘Goods’ is: An Inflexible Contract Between the Government and Every Citizen.  Have we not read something similar to this before?  Perhaps the U. S. Constitution and the New Mexico Constitution.
Would this not be close to the perfect rule for elected, or appointed officials, and business and political party hirelings like lobbyists, to follow?  Deviations from the rules by those serving the public or those gaining from public funds would result in dismissal, or jail.  Both should be considered.
There is no way to measure the numbers of Americans and visitors who have seen the Good Housekeeping seal over the more than one hundred years.  No guess would justify the numbers of Americans who have purchased products because of the assurances of the Good Housekeeping seal.  What a wonderful relationship with the people.
But here in New Mexico, The Land of Sententious Ochlocracy, moralizing by mob rule, the inclusive generations-assuring Good Housekeeping seal has been replaced.  Not by an honor code of any business operating in the confines of the state’s borders, but by the well-fed beliefs of superiority and righteousness of the Christian evangelicals who have wormed their way into government offices and dominate the leadership of the state legislature, political parties, and court rooms by one particular religious group.
One of the last territories in the contiguous United States to become a state in 1912, New Mexico did not have a state flag until 1925.  Obviously a hegemonic bricolage, Christian-privilege magic, a suddenly held, very short design contest and instantly governor-approved, produced a new version of the stolen Zia Pueblo sacred religious sun symbol.  This new symbol representing the Trinity of Catholicism was sanctified by the state government a few days before Good Friday for the 1925 Easter unveiling in Santa Fe.
The colors pay homage to the Catholic queen of Spain and her husband-king who blessed the death-dealing Catholic Inquisition and bloody invasions of the Americas.  The adoption of the appropriated, and evangelical-transformed, sacred Zia Pueblo religious symbol, is a constant reminder of the subjugation of New Mexico by the sword and supposed superiority of the Catholic beliefs over those of The People.

A bright, yet noticeable contrast to the mundane, this Catholic version of the Zia Pueblo sacred religious sun symbol has flown over New Mexico for eighty-eight years.  As a distraction for its real intent, apologists abound claim it represents the abundant sunshine the state is touted for.
Not satisfied with this accepted symbol for the Trinity’s influence over the state, the new evangelical dominionists, in an insidious campaign to reclaim the New Mexico they dreamily claim has been lost to those masses of humanity who reject the primitive church’s teachings, comes a new sign of total domination.  Their efforts are paying off with their new, little known flag creeping unnoticed into every facet of the lives of the people in New Mexico.  The arrogance and superiority displayed by these new evangelists is something that can only be held in disdain.
Thus, this well-planned and clandestine operation headquartered in Santa Fe is spreading its smothering shadow across the state as if it were a sweet thing like potato candy creeping around a plate when too much powdered sugar is added.  Choking the life out of our Freedom From Religion.

This is the most common example ignored by casual observers unaware of the Church-sponsored creep into our society.  Note spacing by arrows.

To continue the attributes to the Christian divine by hegemonic government agencies one does not have to look very far:

This is the State of New Mexico Human Services Department logo.
Note the Zia symbol-like modification to glorify the Catholic Trinity.

Next is a clever blessing-design for a program of this same Human Services Department.  Note the four representative human figures in the circle holding hands.  Also note the heads of each figure are centered on the divine-representative portion of the Trinitarian Zia symbol-like logo.  Illegal?  Yes, because the State is receiving federal funds to run the program.  The State knows this.  Think - religion from government.

This State of New Mexico Human Services Department is operating the Medicaid program called the Centennial Care program after the State’s 2012 centennial celebration, when it was reintroduced.  By all accounts the symbol is nothing but a government’s reminder of the Catholic Trinity. The modified, evangelical Zia-like symbol is to indicate the program has been blessed by a Catholic deity, or is a blessing and people are reminded to offer up their prayers, either way.  This is a federal-funded Medicaid program.

“A new name” for an evangelical-blessed Federal government program now sporting an illegal Christian logo.
